Why study at Birmingham

Birmingham is the UK's vibrant 'Second City' and the beating economic and industrial heart of the West Midlands, celebrated for having more miles of picturesque canals than Venice, the historic Jewellery Quarter, and one of Europe's youngest and most diverse populations (over 40% under 25). Birmingham is home to world-renowned higher education titans: the prestigious University of Birmingham (founded in 1900 by Queen Victoria, founding member of the elite Russell Group, ranked #80 globally in the QS World University Rankings, with 11 Nobel laureates), renowned for its College of Medical and Dental Sciences (Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham), College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (world leader in AI, Robotics, and Railway Engineering), Birmingham Business School (Triple Crown accredited: AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS), and School of Computer Science, alongside Aston University (ranked #1 in the UK for Student Success / Business Placements), Birmingham City University (BCU - leading in Creative Arts and Media), and University College Birmingham (UCB). Over 80,000 students live in the city with exceptional graduate employment. International students benefit from lower living costs than London (35% cheaper), direct international airport (BHX), and direct UK Student Visa (CAS) support.
