Why study at Cardiff

Cardiff is the vibrant, cosmopolitan capital city of Wales in the United Kingdom, celebrated for its majestic Cardiff Castle, waterfront Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay, world-class Principality Stadium, and lush green Cathays Park civic center, situated just 1 hour 45 minutes by direct Great Western Railway (GWR) high-speed train from London Paddington. Ranked consistently as one of the most affordable, safe, and student-friendly university capital cities in the UK (NatWest Student Living Index), Cardiff is home to the prestigious Cardiff University (Prifysgol Caerdydd - founded in 1883 by royal charter, the ONLY Welsh member of the elite Russell Group of 24 leading UK research-intensive universities, ranked top 150 globally by QS, with 2 Nobel laureates). Cardiff is world-renowned for its School of Medicine (Heath Park campus), Cardiff Business School (accredited by AACSB and recognized as a leading Public Value business school), School of Journalism, Media and Culture (JOMEC - the 'Oxford of Journalism' with direct ties to the BBC and Reuters), School of Engineering, and School of Architecture, alongside Cardiff Metropolitan University (accredited in Design, Sport, and Health Sciences) and Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Degrees are taught 100% in English within the British higher education framework. International students benefit from some of the lowest living costs among UK major capitals, rich Celtic cultural life, safe walkable city center, and direct UK Student Visa (CAS) support.
