Why study at Cologne

Cologne (Köln) is Germany's fourth-largest metropolis, the cultural and economic capital of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region in North Rhine-Westphalia, celebrated globally for its UNESCO World Heritage Gothic Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), historic Hohenzollern Bridge, Rhine riverfront, world-famous Carnival, and as Germany's media, television (WDR, RTL), games (Gamescom - largest gaming convention in the world), and insurance capital. Cologne is one of Europe's largest student hubs, home to over 100,000 students and premier higher education institutions: the University of Cologne (Universität zu Köln - founded in 1388, one of the oldest and largest universities in Central Europe with over 50,000 students and an elite member of the German Universities Excellence Initiative with 4 Nobel laureates), world-renowned for the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences (WiSo - Triple Crown accredited: EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA, consistently ranked #1 in Germany), Faculty of Medicine (University Hospital Cologne), Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, alongside TH Köln (Technology Arts Sciences - Germany's largest University of Applied Sciences), German Sport University Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln / SpoHo - the only dedicated sports university in Germany and world leader in sports science), and Cologne University of Music and Dance (HfMT). Higher education at public state universities is 100% TUITION-FREE (€0 tuition) for all international students. Students benefit from the nationwide Deutschlandticket transit pass, vibrant student districts (Kwartier Latäng), and Germany's 18-month post-study work visa.
