Why study at Dresden

Dresden is the magnificent, baroque capital of the Free State of Saxony in eastern Germany on the Elbe River ('Florence on the Elbe' - Elbflorenz), celebrated worldwide for the Frauenkirche, Zwinger Palace, Semperoper, and as Europe's largest high-tech microelectronics and semiconductor supercluster ('Silicon Saxony' - home to TSMC's European mega-fab ESMC, Infineon, GlobalFoundries, Bosch, and over 2,500 tech companies). Dresden is an elite academic titan, home to one of Germany's only 11 Universities of Excellence (Exzellenzuniversität): Dresden University of Technology (Technische Universität Dresden / TUD - founded in 1828, member of the prestigious TU9 Alliance of German Institutes of Technology with over 31,000 students). TU Dresden is globally renowned for Computer Science (Center for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop CeTI, 6G research, Operating Systems), Electrical and Microelectronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, and Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine, supported by the DRESDEN-concept research network uniting TU Dresden with 14 Max Planck, Fraunhofer, Leibniz, and Helmholtz research institutes. Higher education at TU Dresden is 100% TUITION-FREE (€0 tuition) for all international students. Students benefit from the nationwide Deutschlandticket transit pass, vibrant student life in Dresden-Neustadt, high-paying engineering careers in Silicon Saxony, and Germany's 18-month post-study work visa.
