Why study at Erfurt
Erfurt is the enchanting, historic capital of the Free State of Thuringia in central Germany on the Gera River, celebrated for having one of Germany's best-preserved medieval old towns, the magnificent Erfurt Cathedral (Erfurter Dom) and Severikirche on the Domplatz, the famous inhabited merchants' bridge (Krämerbrücke - the longest continuously inhabited bridge in Europe), and Petersberg Citadel. As the geographic heart of Germany, Erfurt is an ancient academic center where Martin Luther famously earned his master's degree in 1505 at the historic Alma Mater Erfordiensis. Students benefit from the nationwide Deutschlandticket transit pass, central high-speed ICE railway junction (reachable from Berlin in 75 min, Frankfurt in 90 min, Munich in 2 hrs), low cost of living, and Germany's 18-month post-study work visa.
