Why study at Garden City

Garden City is an affluent, historic garden suburb in Nassau County on Long Island, New York, situated just 18 miles east of Midtown Manhattan (just 35 minutes by Long Island Rail Road LIRR train directly into Penn Station and Grand Central Madison). Celebrated for its tree-lined avenues, cathedral architecture (Cathedral of the Incarnation), historic 7th Street upscale shopping and dining district, and exceptional safety (consistently ranked among the safest communities in New York State), Garden City is the flagship home of Adelphi University (founded in 1896, Long Island's oldest coeducational private university with over 7,500 students and a lush 75-acre registered arboretum campus). Adelphi University is internationally celebrated for the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology (the nation's FIRST university-based professional school of clinical psychology, ranked top 5 in the world by the Center for World University Rankings for psychoanalysis), College of Nursing and Public Health (recognized as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence), Robert B. Willumstad School of Business (AACSB-accredited, with direct Wall Street recruiting in Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics), and Department of Computer Science & Cybersecurity, alongside neighboring Nassau Community College (NCC). Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from direct access to New York City internships, generous Adelphi Global Merit Scholarships, a peaceful suburban campus environment, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
