Why study at Granada

Granada is the legendary, magical historic crown jewel of Andalusia at the foot of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains in southern Spain, celebrated worldwide for the UNESCO World Heritage Alhambra palace complex (one of the greatest architectural wonders of human history), the ancient Moorish Albaicín quarter, vibrant flamenco culture in Sacromonte caves, and its world-famous tradition of free tapas with every beverage. Granada is celebrated as the '#1 Erasmus and International Student Capital in Europe', with students comprising nearly a third of the city's entire population. The city is the proud home of the University of Granada (Universidad de Granada / UGR - founded in 1531 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, one of Spain's oldest and most prestigious classical universities, ranked in the World Top 250 in the ARWU Shanghai Ranking and consistently ranked #1 in Spain and World Top 50 for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence). UGR is globally renowned for the Higher Technical School of Computer Science and Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIIT - leading research in AI, Cybersecurity, and Big Data), Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (ranked #1 in Spain and among the top 3 translation faculties in the world), Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine (PTS Health Sciences Technology Park - one of Europe's largest biomedical research campuses), and the Centre for Modern Languages (CLM - world-leading Spanish language immersion institute). Public university tuition in Andalusia is heavily state-subsidized (approx. €800–€1,200/year). International students benefit from exceptionally low living costs (among the cheapest in Western Europe), rich cultural heritage, vibrant student social life, and Spanish Student Visa (Estancia por Estudios) with post-study job search visa support.
