Why study at Halifax

Halifax is the vibrant economic, cultural, and higher education capital of Atlantic Canada and the province of Nova Scotia, situated on the world's second-largest natural ice-free harbour along the Atlantic Ocean. Celebrated for its historic 4-kilometer wooden boardwalk waterfront, the star-shaped Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, world-famous maritime hospitality, and booming ocean technology, shipbuilding, and healthcare sectors (Canada's Ocean Supercluster headquarters). Halifax boasts the highest number of post-secondary institutions per capita in Canada, earning its reputation as 'Canada's Smartest City'. The city is the home of Atlantic Canada's premier research powerhouse: Dalhousie University (founded in 1818, member of Canada's prestigious U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities, ranked in the World Top 275 in the QS World University Rankings with over 21,000 students). Dalhousie is globally acclaimed for the Faculty of Computer Science (pioneering AI, Big Data, and Cybersecurity), Faculty of Engineering (Ocean, Mechanical, and Electrical), Rowe School of Business (AACSB/EQUIS accredited), and Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, alongside Saint Mary's University (SMU - home to the Sobey School of Business - AACSB and EQUIS accredited, #1 in Atlantic Canada for Commerce and Finance), Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU), and NSCAD University (famous art and design academy). Degrees are taught 100% in English within the Canadian university system. International graduates benefit from the accelerated Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) providing rapid Canadian Permanent Residency (PR), 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permits (PGWP), lower living costs, and direct Canadian Study Permit support.
