Why study at Laramie

Laramie is a historic, scenic Rocky Mountain college town situated on the high plains of southeastern Wyoming between the Laramie Range and the majestic Snowy Range Mountains (elevation 7,220 feet / 2,200 meters), located just 45 miles west of Cheyenne (Wyoming's capital) and 2 hours north of Denver, Colorado. Celebrated for over 300 days of annual sunshine, world-class outdoor recreation (Medicine Bow National Forest, world-class skiing at Snowy Range Ski Area, rock climbing at Vedauwoo), historic Downtown Laramie, booming energy and supercomputing ecosystems (home to the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center NWSC - one of the world's most powerful climate and weather supercomputers), and 0% state personal income tax in Wyoming. Laramie is the exclusive flagship home of the state's sole university: University of Wyoming (UW / UWyo - founded in 1886, premier public Land-Grant doctoral research university with over 11,500 students and an impressive $785-acre sandstone campus backed by a massive $700+ million state endowment). UW is internationally celebrated for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (ABET-accredited Petroleum, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Science with the state-of-the-art $105M Engineering Education and Research Building EERB), School of Energy Resources (SER - global leader in Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, and Geothermal Energy), College of Business (AACSB-accredited), College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and College of Health Sciences (School of Pharmacy and WWAMI Medical Education). Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from zero state income tax, some of the lowest public university tuition rates in America, generous UW International Cowboy Merit Scholarships ($4,000 to $7,500/year), exceptional campus safety, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
