Why study at Limerick

Limerick is a vibrant, historic university city and major technological, aviation leasing, and biomedical hub in the Mid-West of Ireland, situated majestically along the River Shannon (Ireland's longest river), located 20 minutes from Shannon International Airport (SNN) and 2 hours by direct train/motorway from Dublin. Celebrated for the iconic 13th-century King John's Castle on King's Island, the Milk Market, rich rugby culture (Thomond Park), and the Shannon Free Zone (the world's first modern special economic zone and global capital for commercial aircraft leasing and MedTech innovation, hosting giants such as Analog Devices, Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, and Regeneron). Limerick is the iconic parkland home of the University of Limerick (UL - founded in 1972, ranked in the World Top 425 in the QS World University Rankings with over 18,000 students on a stunning 360-acre campus straddling the River Shannon connected by the Living Bridge - Ireland's longest pedestrian bridge). UL is globally acclaimed for the Kemmy Business School (KBS - Triple Crown accredited: AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS, ranked in the European top 100), Bernal Institute (world-renowned research institute for materials science, crystallography, and bio-engineering), Faculty of Science and Engineering (Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Aeronautical Engineering, and Biomedical Devices), School of Medicine (Graduate Entry Medical School), and Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, alongside the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS - Moylish campus) and Mary Immaculate College (MIC). Degrees are taught 100% in English within the European Higher Education Area. International students benefit from UL's legendary Co-op paid work placement program (largest in Europe with 2,000+ partner employers), high graduate employability (97%+), generous UL International Scholarships (€1,500 to €4,000/year), and Ireland's 2-year Third Level Graduate Scheme post-study work visa.
