Why study at Macomb

Macomb (Macomb County) is a bustling, high-tech industrial, automotive innovation, and higher education metropolis in the northeastern sector of Metro Detroit in Southeast Michigan along the shores of Lake St. Clair, situated just 20 minutes north of Downtown Detroit and 45 minutes east of Ann Arbor. Celebrated as the epicentre of American automotive engineering, defense technology, and advanced manufacturing (home to General Motors Technical Center - designated a US National Historic Landmark, Stellantis Sterling Heights Assembly, and the US Army Detroit Arsenal / Ground Vehicle Systems Center GVSC). Macomb is the flagship multi-campus home of Macomb Community College (MCC - founded in 1954, one of the largest and most prestigious community colleges in the United States, enrolling over 38,000 students across its Center Campus in Clinton Township and South Campus in Warren). Macomb is nationally celebrated for the Center for Advanced Automotive Technology (CAAT - NSF-funded leader in Electric Vehicles, Autonomous Systems, and Mechatronics), Center for Health Careers, Information Technology (Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Software Engineering), and its Macomb University Center (MUC - housing upper-division programs and guaranteed 2+2 transfer pathways directly into University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan State University, Wayne State University, and Rochester University). Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditations. International students benefit from direct connections to Detroit's global automotive and tech industries, low tuition rates saving up to $50,000 on a US bachelor's degree, affordable cost of living, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
