Why study at Moorhead

Moorhead is a vibrant, safe, and rapidly growing college community in Clay County in western Minnesota along the Red River of the North, forming an integrated dynamic metropolitan university hub directly across the river from Fargo, North Dakota. Celebrated for its unique Scandinavian heritage (Hjemkomst Center featuring a full-scale replica Viking ship and Stave Church), beautiful Red River trails, thriving economy in agricultural technology, healthcare (Sanford Health), and software technology (Microsoft Fargo campus 10 minutes away), and one of the highest college student concentrations per capita in the Upper Midwest (over 30,000 students across the tri-college area). Moorhead is the campus home of Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM - founded in 1887, premier public comprehensive master's university with over 5,000 students on an attractive 140-acre campus). MSUM is internationally acclaimed for the College of Business, Analytics & Communication (AACSB-accredited, leading in Project Management - one of only a few PMI-accredited programs in the nation, Business Administration, and Digital Media), College of Science, Health & the Environment (leading in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Biotechnology, and Nursing), and School of Art, alongside Concordia College (distinguished private college renowned for the Offutt School of Business and pre-med), and Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State). Through the famous Tri-College University partnership, students at MSUM can take courses at North Dakota State University (NDSU) at no additional tuition. Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from an automatic in-state tuition rate for international students, generous MSUM Global Dragon Scholarships ($3,000 to $6,000/year), low living costs, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
