Why study at Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh (known as 'The Steel City' and 'The City of Bridges' with 446 bridges) is an internationally celebrated, revitalized global epicentre of artificial intelligence, robotics, biomedical technology, software engineering, and higher education excellence, situated at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers forming the Ohio River in western Pennsylvania, home to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Famed for its breathtaking skyline emerging from the Fort Pitt Tunnel, Point State Park fountain, the historic Duquesne and Monongahela Incline funiculars, Mount Washington panoramic overlooks, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and its triumphant economic rebirth into 'Robotics Row' (housing research labs for Google, Apple, Uber Advanced Technologies, Argo AI, Aurora Innovation, and Bosch). Pittsburgh is home to two of the world's most elite research powerhouses: Carnegie Mellon University (CMU - founded in 1900 by Andrew Carnegie, ranked #1 in the United States and the world for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering by US News & World Report with over 15,000 students on a 157-acre campus in Oakland, boasting 20 Nobel laureates and 13 Turing Award winners, globally celebrated for the School of Computer Science, Robotics Institute, College of Engineering, Tepper School of Business, and School of Drama), and the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt - established in 1787, flagship public doctoral research university ranked #53 in the world by QS with over 34,000 students, crowned by the towering 42-story Gothic 'Cathedral of Learning' - the second-tallest educational building in the world - renowned for Pitt School of Medicine, UPMC Health System - one of America's largest academic medical centers, Swanson School of Engineering, and Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business), alongside Duquesne University. Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from an exceptionally affordable cost of living compared to Boston or New York, massive Big Tech recruiting, generous international merit scholarships, free citywide PRT transit for students, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
