Why study at Pullman

Pullman is an iconic, exceptionally safe, and spirited classic American college town situated among the rolling, emerald-green hills of the Palouse agricultural and high-tech region in Whitman County, southeastern Washington State, located 75 miles south of Spokane and home to Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport (PUW - with direct flights to Seattle). Celebrated for the breathtaking scenic Palouse Scenic Byway, Kamiak Butte County Park (panoramic vista views), Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL - global electric power protection and smart grid corporate world headquarters founded here), Sunnyside Park, zero state personal income tax (0%), and an electrifying NCAA Division I Pac-12 athletic atmosphere (Gesa Field at Martin Stadium). Pullman is the flagship campus home of Washington State's premier public land-grant doctoral research university: Washington State University (WSU - founded in 1890, flagship Carnegie R1 Very High Research Activity public institution enrolling over 30,000 students on a classic, hilltop 1,742-acre red-brick campus crowned by the historic Bryan Hall Clock Tower). WSU is globally acclaimed for the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture (ABET-accredited Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, and Materials Science Engineering), Carson College of Business (AACSB-accredited, leading in Hospitality Business Management, Finance, and International Business), College of Veterinary Medicine (one of the top veterinary hospitals in North America), Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health, and College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences. Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from an exceptionally low cost of living, generous WSU International Academic Merit Scholarships ($2,000 to $4,000/year for undergraduate; fully funded graduate research assistantships), low student-to-faculty ratios (15:1), and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
