Why study at Springfield

Springfield, Massachusetts (affectionately celebrated as the 'City of Firsts' and the urban heart of New England's famed 'Knowledge Corridor') is a historic, culturally vibrant, and academically rich metropolitan university city situated along the eastern bank of the Connecticut River in western Massachusetts, located just 20 minutes north of Hartford, Connecticut and Bradley International Airport (BDL) and 85 miles west of Boston. Internationally celebrated as the birthplace of Basketball (invented in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith at Springfield College, commemorated at the landmark Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame), the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden (honoring Springfield native Theodor Geisel), the historic Springfield Armory National Historic Site (America's first national armory founded by George Washington), Forest Park (one of the largest urban parks in the US designed by Frederick Law Olmsted), and its thriving regional economy in advanced precision manufacturing, healthcare, and insurance (headquarters of Fortune 100 MassMutual Financial Group). Springfield is home to prestigious higher education institutions: Western New England University (WNE - founded in 1919, private doctoral comprehensive university enrolling over 3,700 students on a beautiful 215-acre suburban campus, globally acclaimed for the College of Engineering ABET-accredited, College of Business AACSB-accredited, and School of Law ABA-accredited), alongside Springfield College (world-renowned pioneer in sports management, physical education, and health sciences), American International College (AIC), and Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from an exceptionally affordable cost of living compared to Boston, generous WNE International Merit Scholarships ($10,000 to $22,000/year), PVTA bus transit, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
