Why study at St. George's
St. George's Parish (anchoring the scenic capital of St. George's and the True Blue peninsula) is the vibrant, safe, and world-renowned medical and higher education capital of Grenada ('The Isle of Spice') in the southern Caribbean, home to Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND - direct flights to New York, Miami, Atlanta, Toronto, and London). Celebrated for the picturesque horseshoe-shaped Carenage harbour (flanked by colorful 18th-century Georgian colonial buildings), the world-famous 2-mile white sand Grand Anse Beach, historic Fort George and Fort Frederick, lush rainforest waterfalls (Annandale Falls), and fragrant nutmeg and spice plantations. St. George's is the home of one of the world's most successful and globally dominant international medical schools: St. George's University (SGU - founded in 1976, elite international private university enrolling over 8,500 students from more than 100 countries on an unprecedented 42-acre beachfront Caribbean peninsula campus in True Blue). SGU offers the 4-Year Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, alongside 5-Year, 6-Year, and 7-Year Preclinical Pathways, School of Veterinary Medicine (AVMA-accredited), School of Graduate Studies (MPH - CEPH-accredited), and School of Arts and Sciences. Medical students complete basic sciences in Grenada or Northumbria University (UK) before completing clinical rotations at over 75 affiliated teaching hospitals across the United States and the United Kingdom. Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious global accreditations (CAAM-HP, WFME, US Dept of Education NCFMEA, UK GMC, ECFMG, and recognized across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, and Egypt). International students benefit from SGU International Peace Scholarships (discounting up to $100,000+ USD), modern ocean-view dormitories, SGU bus fleet, and straightforward Grenada Student Visa processing.
