Why study at Syracuse

Syracuse (nationally celebrated as 'The Salt City' and 'Heart of New York') is a major historic, vibrant, and rapidly revitalizing technological and educational metropolis situated in the picturesque Finger Lakes and Central New York region of New York State, located just 4 hours northwest of New York City and 2.5 hours east of Niagara Falls, home to Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). Celebrated for the historic Landmark Theatre, Clinton Square and Armory Square (vibrant 19th-century brick pedestrian districts filled with artisan cafes, craft breweries, and tech incubators), the monumental 49,000-seat JMA Wireless Dome (the only domed stadium in the northeastern United States), and its transformation into the semiconductor and high-tech manufacturing capital of the US (anchored by Micron Technology's historic $100 billion mega-fab semiconductor facility, Lockheed Martin, Saab, and Upstate Medical University). Syracuse is home to an elite world-renowned private research university: Syracuse University ('Orange' / 'Cuse - founded in 1870, elite Carnegie R1 Very High Research Activity institution enrolling over 22,000 students on a breathtaking hilltop campus overlooking the city, crowned by the iconic Romanesque Hall of Languages and the Crouse College Chimes Tower). Syracuse University is globally acclaimed for the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs (consistently ranked #1 in the United States for Public Affairs by US News & World Report), S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications (widely recognized as the premier journalism, television, and digital communications school in the world), College of Engineering and Computer Science (ABET-accredited leader in AI, Cyber Security, and Aerospace Engineering), Martin J. Whitman School of Management (AACSB-accredited), and Syracuse College of Law (alma mater of US President Joe Biden), alongside SUNY Upstate Medical University (level-1 trauma teaching hospital) and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). Degrees are taught 100% in English with prestigious US accreditations. International students benefit from an exceptionally affordable cost of living compared to NYC, generous Syracuse University International Merit Scholarships ($10,000 to $25,000/year), Centro bus transit, and direct US F-1 / I-20 Student Visa support with 3-year STEM OPT work extensions.
