Study abroad at Egypt

Egypt is the historical beacon of higher education and academic culture in the Arab world, home to prestigious historical universities like Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Alexandria University, and Al-Azhar University, alongside cutting-edge modern national (Ahleya) and international branch campuses (such as Coventry, London, and German universities in Egypt). Egyptian universities are globally accredited in Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, and Islamic Studies. International students benefit from affordable tuition fees, low cost of living, rich cultural immersion, and streamlined admission via the official 'Study in Egypt' (Wafeden) initiative.

Tuition fees for international students in Egyptian public universities are charged in US Dollars and fixed by the Supreme Council of Universities. For undergraduate programs: Medicine and Dentistry cost approximately $6,000 per year, Engineering, IT, and Pharmacy cost $5,000 per year, while Business, Law, and Arts cost $3,000 per year, in addition to a one-time enrollment registration fee ($1,500). Egyptian National (Ahleya) and private universities range from $4,000 to $9,000 per year. Living expenses are very affordable, averaging $200 to $450 per month.

International students enter Egypt on an initial Tourist or Student Visa and obtain a Student Residence Permit (Iqama) for the duration of their academic studies. The university and the General Administration of الوافدين issue the necessary security clearings and residency endorsement letters to the Passports, Emigration and Nationality Administration (Mugamma/Abbassiya).
