Why study at Geneva

Geneva is the global diplomatic capital of the world and the financial jewel of Switzerland, situated on the shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) where the Rhône River emerges against the backdrop of the Alps and Mont Blanc. Celebrated for the iconic Jet d'Eau fountain, the Palace of Nations (Palais des Nations - European Headquarters of the United Nations), the International Red Cross (ICRC), World Health Organization (WHO), World Trade Organization (WTO), and CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research and birthplace of the World Wide Web), Geneva is an elite global center of governance, finance, and science. The city is home to world-renowned higher education institutions: the University of Geneva (Université de Genève / UNIGE - founded in 1559 by John Calvin, ranked #125 globally in the QS World University Rankings, member of the prestigious League of European Research Universities LERU with over 19,000 students and associated with 10 Nobel laureates and 3 Fields medalists). UNIGE is internationally celebrated for Physics & Astrophysics (Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz Nobel Prize for discovering the first exoplanet), Faculty of Medicine, Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM - AACSB/AMBA accredited), Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI - the world's most prestigious translation institute), and Faculty of Law, alongside the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID - world top 10 for International Relations and Development Studies with Kofi Annan alumni). Public Swiss universities charge heavily state-subsidized tuition fees (only CHF 500/semester). International students benefit from exceptional international diplomacy internships, multilingual Swiss environment, high safety, and Swiss Student Residence Permit support.
