Why study at Izmir

Izmir is Turkey's third-largest metropolis and the liberal, sun-drenched capital of the Aegean coast, celebrated for its scenic Kordon promenade, pleasant Mediterranean climate, open-minded culture, and prestigious universities. Izmir is home to Ege University (founded in 1955, major national research pioneer with world-ranked Medical, Pharmacy, and Agriculture Faculties), Dokuz Eylül University (DEU - acclaimed for its Faculty of Medicine, University Hospital, Marine Sciences, and Engineering), Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH / İYTE - Turkey's elite English-medium institute of technology modeled after MIT), alongside prominent private institutions like Yaşar University and Izmir University of Economics (IUE). Degrees are taught in English within the European Bologna system. International students enjoy a relaxed Aegean coastal lifestyle, affordable living, modern transport, and straightforward student residency.
