Tuition fees in Łódź for international students are among the most competitive in the European Union. At Lodz University of Technology (TUL) and University of Lodz, English-taught undergraduate bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, and Economics range from €2,500 to €4,500 per academic year (approx. 11,000 to 20,000 PLN/year). At the Medical University of Lodz (MUL), international tuition for the 6-Year Doctor of Medicine (MD in English) is approx. €13,000 to €14,400 per year, and the 5-Year Dental Medicine (DMD) is approx. €14,000 to €15,200 per year. Modern furnished university student dormitories (MUL Dormitories Synapsa & Medyk / TUL Basecamp & Lumumbowo student campus) cost between 600 PLN and 1,200 PLN (€140 to €280) per month (inclusive of all utilities, heating, and high-speed Wi-Fi), while private 1-bedroom apartments in Central Łódź and Piotrkowska range from 1,800 PLN to 2,800 PLN (€420 to €650) per month. Admission requirements

  • Secondary School Certificate / High School Diploma & University Online Portal

    Certified secondary school graduation certificate with Apostille / legalization and official Polish or English translation (Biology and Chemistry required for Medical University of Lodz MUL with entrance examination/interview; Advanced Mathematics/Physics for TUL engineering).

  • English Language Proficiency (IELTS Academic / TOEFL iBT / Duolingo / Medium of Instruction)

    IELTS Academic (minimum 6.0 overall; 6.5 for Medicine MD and DMD), TOEFL iBT (minimum 80–87+), Duolingo English Test (105+), or official certificate confirming English as Medium of Instruction.

Student Visa

International non-EU students require a National Polish Student Visa (D-Type Visa for Higher Education). Requirements include: an official Letter of Acceptance from the university (Zaświadczenie o przyjęciu na studia), proof of tuition fee payment, proof of sufficient financial funds for living expenses and return flight (approx. 1,000 PLN/month deposited in a bank account), international travel medical insurance (minimum coverage €30,000 compliant with Polish MFA), proof of accommodation in Łódź, and clean police record. Upon arrival in Poland, students can apply for a Temporary Residence Card (Karta Pobytu) allowing legal part-time employment and visa-free travel throughout the Schengen Area.

How to Study

Choose your degree program at Medical University of Lodz (6-Year MD Medicine in English, 5-Year DMD Dentistry), Lodz University of Technology (Computer Science, Engineering IFE), or University of Lodz (Business & Economics).

Submit your application via the university international admissions portal with academic transcripts and English proficiency certificates.

For MUL Medicine: complete the online entrance interview in biology and chemistry.

Receive your official Acceptance Letter and pay the tuition fee.

Book your visa appointment at the Polish Embassy or VFS Global, submit your visa file, and receive your National D-Type Visa.

Fly to Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW - direct 75 min train to Łódź Fabryczna Station) or Łódź Airport (LCJ), check into your student residence in Synapsa or Lumumbowo, and attend International Student Orientation.
