Why study at Vienna

Vienna (internationally celebrated as the 'City of Music', 'City of Dreams', and consistently ranked #1 Most Livable City in the World by the Economist Intelligence Unit and Mercer Quality of Living Rankings) is Austria's imperial capital and Central Europe's grand intellectual and cultural epicenter, situated along the Danube River, home to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and high-speed Railjet train connections to Munich, Budapest, Zurich, and Prague. Globally celebrated for the historic Ringstraße boulevard, Schönbrunn and Hofburg Imperial Palaces, St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom), the Vienna State Opera, legendary Viennese Coffee House Culture (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage), and its status as a premier global hub for international diplomacy (housing the United Nations Vienna headquarters UNODC/IAEA and OPEC) and clean tech, life sciences, and quantum physics. Vienna is home to elite, globally top-ranked universities: University of Vienna (Universität Wien - founded in 1365 by Duke Rudolph IV, the oldest university in the German-speaking world and one of the largest in Europe, ranked World Top 130 by QS World University Rankings, associated with 21 Nobel Laureates, enrolling over 90,000 students), alongside Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien - world-renowned leader in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Architecture), Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien - Europe's largest business university with triple accreditation AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS), Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Wien), and Central European University (CEU). Hundreds of degree programs are taught 100% in English within the European Bologna System (ECTS). International students benefit from Austria's exceptionally low public university tuition (€726 per semester for non-EU students), world-class Wiener Linien public transit (€1/day student pass), and direct Austrian Student Residence Permit (Aufenthaltsbewilligung Student) with 20 hours/week work rights and 1-year post-study job search visa.
